Travel Logistics & Entry Requirements

Welcome to our travel guide. To make your journey to Cameroon as smooth as possible, please review the specific entry, visa, and transportation details below.

✈️

1. Flight Destinations

International flights typically land at one of Cameroon's primary hubs. We recommend looking into flights via Air France, Brussels Airlines, or Turkish Airlines:

Douala International Airport (DLA):

The primary commercial hub, highly connected for international travelers.

Yaoundé Nsimalen International Airport (NSI):

The capital city hub, offering a smooth and structured entry point.

2. Entry Requirements & e-Visa Guide

🛃 Essential Documentation

  • Passport: Your physical passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your entry date and have at least one completely blank page.
  • Health Records: Mandatory. All incoming travelers must carry their physical World Health Organization (WHO) International Certificate of Vaccination (Yellow Card) showing proof of a Yellow Fever vaccination. Customs officials will check this before allowing entry.

🌐 The e-Visa Process (For US & Canada Residents)

Cameroon requires all international visitors to pre-enroll and pay for their tourist visas online before traveling.

Official Portal: Applications must be submitted exclusively via the official government portal: www.evisacam.cm

The Timeline:

Normal Processing: Standard digital approval takes roughly 7 business days minimum from submission. Express Service: An expedited approval is processed within 24 to 48 hours. Recommendation: Submit your online application at least 3 to 4 weeks before your departure date.

The Fees:

Normal Short Stay Visa (up to 6 months): Approximately €153 EUR (roughly $165 USD / $225 CAD). Express Short Stay Visa: Approximately €229 EUR (roughly $250 USD / $340 CAD). Note: Fees are paid directly on the portal using a major international credit card (Visa, MasterCard) or PayPal.

How it Works:

Once your online application is approved, you will receive an official electronic authorization document containing a QR code. Print this document out! When you land at the airport, border control will scan your QR code, take your biometric parameters, and stamp the physical visa directly into your passport.

3. Transportation in Cameroon

Getting around safely and efficiently is highly manageable if you use the right tools.

📱 Highly Recommended: The Yango App

For moving around major cities like Douala or Yaoundé, we strongly recommend downloading and using the Yango ride-hailing app.

  • It functions just like Uber or Lyft—you pin your location, set a destination, and see a fixed price before you request the ride.
  • It removes the need to negotiate fares with local street taxis and ensures your ride is tracked digitally for peace of mind.
  • Tip: It is best to set your payment method to cash within the app, as local drivers heavily prefer cash payouts over digital cards.

🚕 Alternative Private Options

Hotel Shuttles & Private Drivers: For your arrival and trip to the wedding festivities in Bametchetcha or your hotel stays (like Tagidor Garden or Bana), arranging a dedicated private car rental or using hotel-vetted transport services is highly recommended.
